Can Low-Carbon Technological Innovation Reduce Haze Pollution?—Based on Spatial Econometric Analysis

چکیده
Exploring the co-benefits of low-carbon tech-innovation in response to climate change on haze pollution is an important foundation for China’s ecological construction, and also a key path common goal carbon reduction. Based STIRPAT model EKC hypothesis, dynamic spatial Durbin (SDM) constructed empirically analyze mechanism 30 Chinese provinces from 2006 2018. The results show that 1) different regions China shows significant temporal correlation. 2) brings suppression long-term positive externalities between regions. 3) Environmental policy industrial structure play moderating mediating role, respectively, former produces “innovation offset” effect. 4) Both types can suppress pollution, but gray better control ability cross-regional diffusion ability. Therefore, joint prevention should be established prevent rebound agglomeration haze, balance development technologies achieve coordinated emissions haze.

Carbon markets and technological innovation
This paper examines the effects of firm-level innovation in carbon-abatement technologies on optimal cap-and-trade schemes with and without price controls. We characterize optimal cap-and-trade regulation with price cap and price floor, and compare it to the special cases of pure taxation and simple emissions cap. Innovation shifts the tradeoff between priceand quantity-based instruments toward...
متن کاملSpatial Econometric Model Analysis of Foreign Direct Investment and Haze Pollution in China
Increasing attention is being paid to spatial distribution characteristics of haze pollution and its relation with socioeconomic factors. This study investigates the spatial autocorrelation of haze pollution in China and the effect of foreign direct investment (FDI) on haze pollution in China using a panel data of 31 provinces over the period 2000-12. Using a widely used spatial autocorrelation...
متن کاملIndustrial Carbon Emissions of China’s Regions: A Spatial Econometric Analysis
This paper proposes an extended Stochastic Impacts by Regression on Population, Affluence, and Technology (STIRPAT) model to investigate the factors driving industrial carbon emissions in China. In the first stage, a spatial Durbin model is applied to investigate the determinants of regional industrial carbon emissions. In the second stage, a geographically and temporally weighted regression is...
متن کاملTechnological Innovation
This paper considers how manufacturing companies within the supply chain are increasingly expected to provide technologically innovative solutions, rather than simple components. Large global companies are becoming system builders, but as they devolve greater responsibility for technology to suppliers, they are also squeezing cost and timescales. Planning for specific future technology requirem...
